Model IDs
A model ID is author/slug, for example anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.5 or openai/gpt-oss-20b. Copy IDs from any model page. An ID that is not in the catalog answers 400 <id> is not a valid model ID.
Listing models
The full catalog with pricing, context length, modalities and supported parameters. Public, no key required, refreshed every 10 minutes.

Carriers per model
Each model is served by one or more carriers. This endpoint lists them with their pricing, context, quantization and recent uptime.

A model whose prompt and completion prices are both zero, or an ID ending in :free, is never charged and works at a zero balance. Its requests still appear in your activity log with a cost of $0.
Default model
If you omit model, or send reroute/auto, the request goes to openai/gpt-oss-20b. The response always reports the model that actually served it in its model field.
