Overview
Introduction
One API for every model in the catalog.
What Reroute does
Reroute gives you every model in the catalog through a single, OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You keep one API key and one credit balance; we price each request against the model's listed per-token rate, send it to a carrier that serves the model, and meter the tokens the carrier reports.
Because the API speaks the OpenAI Chat Completions format, any client that lets you change the base URL works without code changes. Point it at https://reroute.wtf/api/v1 and pass your Reroute key.
How a request is routed
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Authenticate | Your Authorization: Bearer sk-rr-v1-… key is resolved to your account. |
| 2. Price | The model is looked up in the catalog. Paid models need a positive balance; free models do not. |
| 3. Check limits | A disabled key, or a key that has spent its credit limit, is refused before anything is sent. |
| 4. Route | The request goes to a carrier that serves the model. If none can, you get 503, never a made-up answer. |
| 5. Settle | Tokens and cost come from the carrier's own usage numbers and are deducted from your balance and the key. |
